Marketnode to Offer BNY Investments Funds on Stellar

Marketnode Brings BNY Funds to Stellar for Asia-Pacific Investors

Marketnode is set to offer selected BNY Investments funds through the Stellar network, bringing a group of established investment products onto blockchain-based infrastructure. The arrangement will allow institutional and accredited investors in Asia Pacific to access the funds through Marketnode’s digital infrastructure, with tokens representing selected BNY Investments funds issued on-chain. The arrangement involves BNY Investments, Marketnode and the Stellar Development Foundation. BNY Investments provides the investment products, Marketnode handles the digital infrastructure and distribution side, and Stellar provides the underlying blockchain network. The announcement does not disclose the value of the funds involved or the investor activity expected.

Marketnode Will Put Selected BNY Investments Funds On Stellar

Marketnode said on August 13 that it will provide on-chain access to selected BNY Investments funds through the Stellar network. The company will introduce tokens representing those funds through its digital infrastructure, with the offering aimed at institutional and accredited investors. In practice, an investment fund gains a digital representation recorded on a blockchain. This is not BNY Investments issuing a cryptocurrency. The tokens represent the funds and provide an additional access route for eligible investors.

Marketnode, which describes itself as an Asia-Pacific digital market infrastructure operator, said the arrangement expands its multi-asset offering for institutional and accredited investors. It also said the collaboration builds on its existing relationship with the Stellar Development Foundation.

The companies say the structure supports distribution efficiency and security, though those are the participants’ own claims. The eligibility restriction matters. This is not a retail service open to anyone with a crypto wallet, but an additional channel for investors who already qualify. Marketnode’s announcement does not identify the specific BNY Investments funds that will initially be offered, nor does it provide expected assets under management, investor numbers or transaction volumes. Those details will determine the eventual scale.

The Deal Adds Another Example Of Investment Products Moving On-Chain

The arrangement pairs a traditional asset manager with a digital infrastructure operator and a public blockchain. Marketnode said the collaboration reflects growing institutional interest in tokenised investment models operating within regulated frameworks. Stellar’s representative pointed to the network’s prior use for tokenised money-market funds and cited 99.99% uptime.

The announcement itself does not say that the arrangement will increase demand for Stellar’s XLM token, bring a specific amount of capital onto the network or lead to additional partnerships.

The immediate development is narrower. Selected BNY Investments funds are being prepared for on-chain access through Marketnode using Stellar. The companies have not yet disclosed the size of the initial fund offering, expected investor participation or the timetable for individual products. The underlying product remains a fund. The blockchain creates and manages a digital representation of it. Its significance depends on how investors use the channel once products go live.
