Yuga Labs’ Moonbirds give NFT holders exclusive commercial rights

In a major announcement, the Moonbirds NFT collection updated its copyright model. According to the collection, which is now controlled by Yuga Labs, holders of NFTs are required to have exclusive rights to commercialize them.

The Moonbirds NFT collection is venturing into unexplored realms with its digital art and NFT trip. After being acquired by Yuga Labs, the series had a creative overhaul and a change in copyright model.

Moonbirds’ copyright status has been revised, among other changes. The collection, which previously worked under a Creative Commons CC0 copyright status that allowed for free commercialization, now gives exclusive commercial rights to NFT holders over their digital assets. This change brings Moonbirds in line with the copyright system employed by Yuga Labs’ other successful projects, like Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks.

The strategy aims to increase the value proposition for NFT owners by granting holders exclusive commercialization rights. By giving them more control and potential revenue streams, Moonbird seeks to solidify its position as one of the most sought-after premium collections within the NFT space.

Moonbirds has also decided to embark on a bold artistic journey by transitioning into animated 3D avatars. This move aligns with Yuga Labs’ development of the Otherside metaverse project, which incorporates the collection. Therefore, Moonbirds serve as pioneers in creating dynamic, animation-ready three-dimensional models for immersive digital experiences.

The shift towards 3D avatars not only responds to an increased need for interactive and flexible digital assets but also opens avenues of creative storytelling in virtual environments. With technological possibilities at hand through the partnership between Yuga Labs and their creativity prowess, it will not be long before MoonBirds starts redefining the limits surrounding digital art vis-à-vis metaverse applications.

In addition to undergoing various changes within its structure, Moonbirds has decided to explore physical collectibles and engage communities around them. Plans are underway to introduce tangible assets as well as merchandise, thereby closing the gap between the digital and physical worlds of collectibles.

In addition, Moonbirds wants to increase community-drivenness by hosting special events for NFT holders. The highest point of these efforts was when they organized a satellite event during Apefest 2024, which took place in Lisbon, Portugal, in October of this year. By bringing together people who own MoonBirds in one physical location, there will be lively interactions among themselves, thus making it a stronger community within the NFT ecosystem.

The partnership between Moonbirds and Yuga Labs is an important step in the development process within the NFT universe. By using Yuga Labs’ knowledge base combined with their resources; moonbird owners should expect seamless experiences that cut across traditional boundaries brought about by rapidly changing digital art and metaverse scenes.
