Hanwha Investment & Securities, a financial affiliate of Fortune Global 500 company Hanwha, has entered a strategic partnership with Chainlink to develop a global real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform. Announced on October 29, 2026, the partnership will bring Chainlink’s data and interoperability infrastructure into the platform as Hanwha prepares to expand its digital asset activities across South Korea and international markets.
The collaboration will focus not only on issuing tokenized assets but also on enabling their distribution across blockchain networks and exploring how they can be used as collateral in institutional financial markets.
How Will Chainlink Support Hanwha’s RWA Tokenization Platform?
As part of the agreement, Hanwha Investment & Securities is adopting the Chainlink data standard and Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as the official data and interoperability infrastructure for its global tokenization platform. Chainlink will provide pricing and net asset value (NAV) data for the real-world assets issued through the platform. Its CCIP technology will enable tokenized assets and their associated liquidity to move across private and public blockchains.
This infrastructure is intended to allow assets to be issued on networks suited to their individual characteristics and subsequently reach investors and liquidity across different markets. Through a single integration, Hanwha aims to avoid building separate connections for each blockchain network it wants to support. The alliance covers several stages of the tokenization process, including asset issuance, distribution and the use of tokenized assets in financial markets.
Hanwha Investment & Securities will contribute its experience in capital markets, institutional infrastructure and asset structuring, alongside access to assets from global asset managers. Chainlink will provide the data and interoperability standards required to connect these assets across blockchain networks. Hanwha Investment & Securities is already in discussions with global asset managers and issuers about tokenizing and distributing different types of real-world assets.
The company plans to make these products available to institutional investors and onchain markets through Chainlink’s infrastructure. The partnership also includes dedicated technical support from Chainlink and priority access to new solutions as the platform evolves. Chainlink will use its global network of financial institutions and blockchain protocols to help widen institutional participation in the initiative.
Joint Working Group to Explore Tokenized Asset Collateral and South Korean Market
Beyond the technology integration, the two companies are establishing a joint working group to develop institutional use cases and standards for the wider tokenized asset market. One of its priorities will be exploring how institutions can execute transactions in onchain financial markets while meeting compliance and custody requirements. The group will also examine valuation and reserve verification methods needed to use different categories of real-world assets as collateral.
Another area of focus will be the development of technology and compliance standards aligned with South Korea’s emerging tokenized securities market. The two companies intend to use the findings to establish practices that other financial institutions can adopt. South Korea is preparing to introduce its tokenized securities framework in February 2027, creating an additional regulatory development for financial firms planning to expand into digital asset markets.
Hanwha Investment & Securities is positioning its platform to serve both the domestic market and international investors as tokenization gains a larger role in financial services.
Insung An, Chief Digital Officer at Hanwha Investment & Securities, said the company aims to tokenize quality assets that clients have historically found difficult to access. He described the broader objective as creating a financial market in which these assets can be issued, distributed and used as collateral across international markets.
An identified Chainlink as a key strategic partner adding that the collaboration would extend beyond technology adoption to developing valuation and usage criteria for tokenized assets. Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, said connecting tokenized assets across public and private blockchains is essential to expanding their access to investors, markets and liquidity. He added that Hanwha’s institutional market expertise and asset access, combined with Chainlink’s data and interoperability infrastructure, could support the development of markets where tokenized assets are used beyond their initial issuance.
The partnership reflects a broader effort to connect conventional financial institutions with blockchain-based markets. By combining asset structuring, institutional infrastructure, pricing data and cross-chain connectivity, Hanwha Investment & Securities and Chainlink are working towards a platform designed to support the issuance and wider use of tokenized real-world assets in South Korea and global markets.
