Bitget Pushes Universal Exchange Concept to Unite Global Asset Trading (1)
  • Bitget unveils the idea of the Universal Exchange that combines multiple asset classes.
  • Users will be able to access multiple markets via one address.
  • The exchange itself is evolving into a Universal Exchange.

Crypto exchange Bitget is looking beyond cryptocurrency with a new research whitepaper, laying out its vision for a “Universal Exchange.” This vision incorporates establishing a platform designed to bring all asset classes under one roof.

Notably, the whitepaper explains that trading platforms should evolve to support not only cryptocurrencies but also stocks, commodities, and tokenized assets. According to the exchange, such a development could address the growing fragmentation of global trading systems.

The platform argues that traders should be able to access multiple markets via a single account. Currently, an individual needs to access multiple platforms and addresses for different assets. This separation creates higher costs, operational friction, and weaker risk management. If this fragmentation could be tackled via the Universal Exchange notion, trading could be simplified, states Bitget.

One Account, Multiple Markets- Bitget’s Universal Exchange

According to Bitget’s whitepaper, traders are increasingly looking for a single platform and account that could provide access to multiple markets. Currently, crypto, stocks, commodities, and tokenized assets are traded on different platforms, causing difficulties like extra costs, friction, and more.

Bitget intends to fix this through the establishment of the Universal Exchange, which lets users manage all their assets in one account. In the whitepaper, Bitget stated that the exchange has already started the initiative by rolling out programs to support its vision of the Universal Exchange. Bitget Research analyst Ryan Lee stated,

“The industry has reached a point where adding another wallet or another AI tool is no longer sufficient. What matters is that these systems actually communicate with each other. The UEX is our way of demonstrating how that integration can work on a large scale, in both crypto and traditional markets.”

Another similar example is Coinbase’s Everything Exchange notion. The exchange is reportedly establishing an all-in-one platform, providing users with a wide rage of services. As part of the program, Coinbase has already launched prediction markets and stocks.

As per the whitepaper, Bitget’s Universal Exchange combines centralized trading, on-chain assets, and traditional markets. While combining multiple asset classes, the platform needs only a single layer of security and risk management.

Interestingly, Bitget presents the Universal Exchange as a “blueprint” for the industry. The platform asserts that even fintech companies and other organizations could also adopt similar all-in-one models. According to the exchange, this shift is mainly driven by the growing popularity of tokenized assets.

Unveiling Bitget’s Own Universal Exchange

Reportedly, Bitget already offers on-chain assets and tokenized stock exposure. As the trading volumes for tokenized assets continue to rise, these services on Bitget gain increasing momentum. The platform is planning to integrate more services and asset classes to evolve into the Universal Exchange. Commenting on the vision, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated,

“Bitget’s UEX vision unites these formerly disparate characteristics. Instead of combining different models, a new financial fabric is being created in which stocks, commodities, cryptocurrency, and forex all coexist in a single, intelligent, global system. ‘Universally tradable’ is made a reality by UEX through AI-driven trading, on-chain transparency, and a security foundation that is stronger than any in the sector.”

Moreover, Bitget Research analyst Ryan Lee stated that systems should intercommunicate for the meaningful progress of this evolution. It could make the Universal Exchange framework a scalable solution.
